The TRUENDO Mission Statement

It is to make the protection of personal data easy. This means two things.

  1. First, it means that TRUENDO strives to make the implementation of regulations regarding personal data easy. In it’s current form TRUENDO is built for websites to be able to easily implement data protection regulations.

  2. Second, it means that we make it easy for a person to understand which types personal data are being collected and why.

When the team behind TRUENDO wants to update the product, we always ask these two questions:
  1. Will this update make it easier for a person to implement the regulation correctly?

  2. Will this update make it easier for a person to understand why their personal data is being collected?

How does TREUNDO do this?

We have started with websites. A website is often the first point of contact between a person and an organization. This is where the responsibility of the website owner starts and the where a person can exercise their rights. Until now, privacy statements have been written by lawyers with the thought of will this statement be water tight in a court of law? TRUENDO’s thought is Will this be easy to understand? and then, “Will it be watertight in a court of law?” This is why we have teamed up with lawyers to build TRUENDO.

Why does TRUENDO want to make data protection easy to manage and to understand?

The team behind TRUENDO strongly believes in the fundamental right of the “Protection of Personal Data”. In order for this right to be upheld, to make the right real, people collecting personal data have a responsibility to uphold the right. This means they have to protect people’s personal data. We have made this responsibility our livelihood. We see it as our responsibility to make it easy to for people to uphold the right and to make it easy for people to exercise their rights around personal data.

What does TRUENDO mean?

It is made up of two words, tru and endo. Tru means true and endo means inside. On websites, the truth about your personal data lies inside TRUENDO’s Privacy Panel.
