Consent Record

To comply with requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) Guidelines on Consent, organizations are required to demonstrate or prove that consent has been obtained from the data subject lies with the data controller.

Article 7(1) of the GDPR states:

“Where processing is based on consent, the controller shall be able to demonstrate that the data subject has consented to processing of his or her personal data.”

Recital 42 of the GDPR - Burden of Proof and Requirements for Consent states:

“Where processing is based on the data subject’s consent, the controller should be able to demonstrate that the data subject has given consent to the processing operation.”

The TRUENDO Consent Management Platform (CMP) automatically blocks all non-necessary cookies, scripts, iframes, tags, pixels etc, that are not necessary for the functionality of the website. Once the user gives their consent, the non-necessary cookies, scripts etc. are activated, a consent record is then stored so the website owner can prove that the user consented. With TRUENDO you can:

  • Obtain a record of consent statements to indicate how consent was obtained, when consent was obtained, and the information provided to the data subject at the time.
  • Demonstrate that the data subject was informed and the controller’s workflow met all relevant criteria for a valid consent.
  • Keep a copy of the information that was presented to the data subject at the time of obtaining consent from them.
