Consent Management Platform (CMP)

A Consent Management Platform (CMP) is a software that ensures websites’ compliance with data protection regulations.

A CMP reads and updates the Legal Basis status of vendors in the Global Vendor List (GVL) to communicate the legal bases of the data processing in the current version to the end user. It facilitates the legal compliance of website operators by offering several features and in particular:

• display a cookie banner when a user accesses a website for the first time  
• inform the users about the cookies and other tracking technologies used
